Teaching

I teach a mix of statistics and data science courses at Carleton College. In all my courses, I place a strong emphasis on ethical reasoning and the application of statistical thinking to real-world questions. I am particularly interested in community-engaged teaching in statistics and data science.

I am interested in thinking through ways to encourage students to intentionally consider their own AI use in their courses. Specifically, I want to encourage students to think through their views on how AI can effect individuals/society and their own learning positively and negatively. I want to help facilitate the process of students connecting these views to how/if they use AI tools. Here’s a draft AI Use Contract (PDF).
